Thoughtful Thursday: All That You Want Can Be Yours

Do you ever sit and think about the things you want in life? Do you ever get lost thinking about your dream car, house, or job, and then dismiss it because you think it’ll take too much work, or you don’t know where to begin?

I used to be exactly like that. In fact, I still am. And, I’m still in the process of finding out exactly what it is that I want. Because the truth is, you can have anything you want. You can have anything, and it starts with that thought. 

Just knowing you can have anything you want in life is powerful enough to get you started. Want a mansion with hundreds of room? Cool. Want fifteen sports cars? Alright! Want to be unemployed or in an unfufilling job for the rest of your life? You could have that, too. The first step is keeping your mind open and knowing you can have anything you want. 

The second step is figuring out what you want, and there are many ways to do this. Start by simply jotting on a piece of paper the things you’d like to have/accomplish. Examples could be to write a book, or to have five million dollars in the next two years. Get clear about exactly what you want. 

Other options you could use to know what you want to work toward are journaling, creating a vision board, or meditating. These ways really open up your imagination and let you be creative. 

Journaling is useful for visiualization right when you wake up and/or go to bed, and is great for implanting the “I (blank)” statement. 

“I (blank)” is a very powerful tool to help kickstart you living how you want, now. Statements such as “I have”, “I am”, and “I will” put your wants into action. Living “as if” those things have already been brought to you is a great tool for attracting what you want. (How many times do you look in the mirror with a negative comment? Ex: “I look horrible” , “I need to lose weight”, etc. Switch those thoughts into that which you want, as if you already have it, and you’ll be on your way. Use this tool not only in your head or out loud, but write it out. Be clear about what you “have”, and the feelings you get by having them. 

Creating a vision board is a tool that I personally love to use. A vision board is a place where you can cut out or find pictures of the things you want (such as a car, a body, a house) and by looking at it every day and setting intention toward having those things, they will be drawn to you. 

Cut out pieces from a magazine or the internet (statements, quotes, pictures, etc) and put them on a board. Look at this board every day and tell yourself these are the things that are already yours. In that moment, it becomes true. Those things are yours already, you’re just going through the process of getting them. 

Meditating is almost the same process of the ” (blank)” statement. By putting everything else aside and sitting with you and the image or thought of what you want, you are able to get a clear picture. 

Meditating before bed is an excellent excersize to help bring you what you want. Imagine your dream kitchen in perfect detail. Imagine how good you will feel when you’ve attracted the perfect partner. Let those feelings of clarity and excitement guide you. You have what you want, it’s out there!

Anything in life can be yours. All it takes is a little imagination, trust, and clarity. Once you’ve become crystal clear on the things you’d like, you’re one step closer to having them. Using things like a vision board are great for helping you stay focused, and telling yourself you have what you want already gives you the mindset that you’ve already obtained it!
